David De Gea appears to be closing the transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab as a free agent according to several top reports.
The Spaniard has reportedly considered retiring since leaving Manchester United at the end of his contract last summer.
The mode of his departure was not right after the club made a move to offer him a new contract. After all he is Man United's undisputed No. 1 for 12 consecutive seasons.
Over the past seven months De Gea has been linked with a number of top clubs but nothing has changed. That is believed to be due to his wage demands as he earns £ 375.000 a week at Man United.
Al Shabab is in dire straits at the moment having ousted their manager last month. They are 11th in the Saudi Pro League standings with Jose Mourinho associated with the manager seat.
The 33-year-old is in talks with Al Shabab over his contract and both sides are believed to be optimistic.
