Arsenal will miss Mohamed Elneny and Takehiro Tomiyasu for this weekend FA Cup clash with Liverpool.
Elneny travels with the Egyptian national team for the Africa Cup of Nations which begins on January 13.
Tomiyasu is also expected to miss the game against Liverpool as he plans to leave for the Asian Cup on Friday.
Arsenal already have defensive problems as Oleksandr Zinchenko missed Sunday defeat to Fulham with a calf injury.
Jurrien Timber is out with a knee injury in the first Premier League game of the season while Thomas Partey is out with a thigh injury.
The Gunners host Liverpool in the third round.
