Romeo Lavia suffered an ankle injury last month during training just when he was fit enough to make a debut for Chelsea.
Three weeks later Mauricio Pochettino's latest update on the midfielder is not an encouraging one.
Lavia? I can't tell you (when he will return) but he's not running. So, I don't think he will be ready after the international break, Pochettino told a press conference.
Chelsea beat Liverpool to the signing of Lavia in August with the powerful midfielder expected to improve the Blues midfield options. Unfortunately, injury has slowed his development so far.
Lavia may return in November or even in December with the likes of Christopher Nkunku depending on how he recovers from the ankle problem.
