Man United have been linked with a move for Benfica centre-back Antonio Silva. Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest update.
We’re seeing Antonio Silva linked with Manchester United, but the key point here is that Benfica don’t want to sell the player, he wrote in his Daily Briefing update.
They were very clear last summer, we will see next summer what happens. Man United have sent their scouts to follow him multiple times and I’m told they will keep tracking him, but there are also more clubs keen on signing him.
The 19-year-old has made 52 first-team appearances for Benfica after making his debut in August 2022. He scored five goals in 44 games his first season with the Portuguese side, a lot for a defender.
Silva has already earned five senior Portugal caps. The centre-back's release clause stands at €100m.
