Man United decided not to strongly pursue a move for Harry Kane due to two reasons, claims The Athletic.
A major one is because the Red Devils did not want to get ‘lured into a battle they could not win’.
This could be because of Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy’s reputation for demanding way too much to sell his players.
Moreover, Man United also felt that Kane’s preference would still be to join Bayern over them because there is no guarantee that the Red Devils are ready to strongly compete for big trophies.
The Englishman has ended up leaving Spurs after a lengthy spell to join the Bundesliga heavyweights.
The Red Devils, on the other hand, pursued a move to sign Rasmus Hojlund to be their next no.9 going forward.
