Former England manager Sam Allardyce has defended Declan Rice after he was named James McClean during Euro 2024.
McClean has claimed that the Arsenal midfielder has been outraged by the British media. His remarks came after England drew 1-1 with Denmark recently.
During an appearance on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast Allardyce said Who is James McClean?
On a more serious note he added: Ask Mikel Arteta what Rice did for Arsenal last year.
Rice was one of the best midfielders in the Premier League last season as Arsenal finished runners-up.
Speaking of England it's a team failure rather than the fault of one player.
