Diario Sport reports that Hansi Flick has decided to keep Vitor Roque in Barcelona this summer. The new manager is excited to work with the youngster and uses him as Robert Lewandowski defender.
The Brazilian has been linked with a summer departure. He arrived in January for a huge fee of 31 million plus 30 million in extra deal but returned just two goals in 14 appearances under Xavi.
Xavi wants the 19-year-old to leave on loan to gain more playing time and experience but Flick feels the striker can be used immediately.
The challenge here is the same as in the case of Barcelona Financial Fair Play. Roque was signed in January as the club were allowed to replace the injured Gavi with him in La Liga registration.
That will not happen next season as the Spanish midfielder is set to return from injury so the Catalans need to balance the book before being able to play Tigrinho.
